Thank you for using ByteProtector ("the Asset"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and manage data related to the Asset in compliance with applicable privacy laws, including but not limited to the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) in the European Union and relevant privacy laws in the United States such as the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA).
The Asset automatically collects error logs on the end-user device to help improve the product and fix issues. The error logs contain only internal logs of the Asset and do not include any personally identifiable information (PII) or data from other applications nor files stored on the device. Logs are anonymous, and no IP address is stored. The collection and processing of this data are carried out in accordance with the principles of data minimization and purpose limitation, as required by GDPR and other relevant regulations.
Under GDPR, our legal basis for collecting and processing error logs is our legitimate interest in ensuring the security, stability, and performance of the Asset (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR). Since no personally identifiable information is collected, no explicit user consent is required.
The collected error logs are used exclusively to:
Error logs are stored for a maximum of 30 days. After this period, they are automatically deleted in compliance with data retention principles under GDPR and other applicable regulations.
We do not share, sell, or distribute the collected error logs to any third parties. All processing is done internally, and no third-party services are involved in handling or storing this data.
Since the Asset does not collect personally identifiable data, no direct user controls are necessary. We implement industry-standard security measures to protect collected error logs from unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction. These measures include encryption, secure storage, and access control mechanisms in compliance with GDPR Article 32 and other relevant regulations.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect legal or operational changes. Any changes will be reflected in an updated version with a new effective date. If the updates significantly alter how we handle collected data, we will notify users accordingly.
